I have used Adobe Premiere as a major source for my editing since 2015 in high school.
Star Giant Productions was a YouTube channel owned by Rebeccah Starlight. Her videos mostly involve ranking and reviewing Western Animation based on a specific topic. I work as one of several editors for her channel from November 2021 to March 2024 under the name SageFroppy.
This is Rebeccah's 10th anniversary video for the Star Giant Productions channel where she ranks the top 50 highest grossing animated films from How to Train Your Dragon 3 with about $525 million to The Lion King (2019) with at least $1.66 billion, in terms of preference. It is also the biggest project I made a contribution to in terms of general video length I edited for, being almost 57 minutes. Note that the films she ranks are based on her findings in January of 2023, even though the video was released in December of the same year. As such, she does not explain her rankings with The Grinch (2018), The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), or Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. My sections deal mostly with what Disney currently owns, but I have edited segments talking about the DreamWorks films Shrek the Third and Madagascar. One of my noticeable edits is incorporating the King Crimson (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) effects in The Lion King segment I edited at 0:42:26.
0:15:12 - 0:31:00 (Brave & Shrek the Third)
0:31:59 - 0:43:30 (The Lion King (2019))
0:52:59 - 0:55:33 (Ice Age: Continential Drift)
1:04:10 - 1:07:10 (Big Hero 6)
1:30:10 - 1:31:53 (Ratatouille)
1:37:31 - 1:39:08, 1:40:00 - 1:41:14 (Monsters University)
1:49:24 - 1:54:12, 1:54:44 - 1:59:07 (Ralph Breaks the Internet)
2:04:52 - 2:08:40 (Madagascar)
2:09:25 - 2:15:46 (Toy Story 3)
This is Rebeccah's review about the CoMIX Wave film Weathering With You. Other than the Spy × Family portion I worked in the Best of 2023 video, this is my first video of hers to edit talking about an anime. I mainly edited the fifth part of her video. A notable contribution to the video was animating a pin to look like it was thrown on an image, with an additional sound effect added. I also edited the pin being removed at 34:22 of the video.
14:41 - 29:36, 29:43 - 30:59
This video ranks all the films created by Blue Sky Studios from the first Ice Age film in 2002 to Ice Age: Buck Wild in 2022. My edits do not display her character designs used for her videos based on a request to have me edit based on a specific style, so some of the final edits (especially with Ice Age 5) were done by her.
08:52-10:24, 10:27-10:32, 10:34-10:38, 10:40-13:24, 13:26-14:38 (Ice Age 5)
29:59-35:10 (Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age 3, & Ice Age 1)
This is her review of the DreamWorks movie The Bad Guys. It is the first video Rebeccah Starlight has posted under the request of a Kofi supporter to pick for a review. It is also the first video of hers that I made most of the final edits from start to finish. I have even learned the size of the footage from B-roll that should be displayed from her videos while she is talking.
00:00-09:38, 09:41-11:35
This video is a review on the Season 5 premiere of The Loud House, Schooled!, My edits in this video are mainly about her discussing the plotlines of Lincoln's sisters. It is the first time my voice has been heard in one of her videos. I also give Rebeccah Starlight credit for the audio changes in 21:59 and 30:09, adding background music, and editing some of the star background without the plus signs.
0:21:14-0:22:34, 0:22:38-0:30:08, 0:30:10-0:49:03
This is my first major project with Rebeccah Starlight, as I edited for at least 14 minutes of the video. This video ranks every Disney film produced in Walt Disney Animation Studios from Snow White in 1937 to Encanto in 2021. Compared to other editors, most of my sections are soundtracks from Kingdom Hearts games (which are also Disney properties). One of the most interesting things I edited was in the Hercules portion where the first 10 seconds of the ranking was creating an Allen Tsai parody where I cropped visuals of a clip to look more like it would be viewed from a phone in vertical orientation, and add text from what was spoken inside a black textbox.
0:09:08-0:11:21 (Bolt)
0:13:42-0:17:05 (Tangled & Hunchback of Notre Dame)
0:23:55-0:25:23 (The Sword in the Stone)
0:40:22-0:41:57 (Peter Pan)
0:54:20-0:56:08 (Hercules)
1:24:51-1:26:45 (Lilo & Stitch)
1:29:35-1:31:14 (Aladdin)
FilmAcademy360 is a film studio that is part of the Academy360 Upper School (run by Spectrum360) in Livingston, New Jersey, and is run by David DiIanni. Many of the videos produced by the studio are created by students in the program and published on the Media Crunch YouTube Channel. I have contributed to FilmAcademy360 since 2015 and am currently working as an intern since 2020. Throughout my time in FilmAcademy360, I have created my own show on the Youtube Channel called "Jake's Animated Review Show", where I discuss anime. During my Animated Review Show, I also have a contribution to help with camerawork and editing.
This practice project is a montage video showcasing the different aspects of the 2023 Fore the Kids Golf Tournament. While provided with the same B-Roll, the montage was made separately from what FilmAcademy360 used to promote the country club.
This is my review of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime. The video was made as a result of the original canon being completed for the anime. This is one of the most thoroughly planned episodes for my animated review show, as it incorporates me doing different poses and finding different images to show the reference that I pose with. My favorite portion is renacting the "Approaching Me" scene from Season 2, with some slight tweaks.
This is my review of the One Piece anime. The video was made as a result of the anime reaching over 1000 episodes. One interesting thing I have added to the series was the intro being similar to the SpongeBob theme song.
This is my animated review on Cells at Work!, mainly the first season. It was made as a result of the pandemic being widespread and Cells at Work is an anime about explaining what happens inside the human body.
This is a cooking video created by Kaan, another FilmAcademy360 student, where he makes a Green Goddess Smoothie. Within the first few weeks of my internship in FilmAcademy360, I was given this project as an assignment to help edit Kaan's video by focusing on the best portions of each clip and cutting to the next shots to have them flow well together.
This is my first Animated Review Show where I review the series My Hero Academia. It covers up to the first two seasons of the show.
This is a section for video work practice that is not related to my client or the place I intern.
This is my first practice project using Adobe Affects Effects. It uses clips with the Winter Soldier in them as a setup for the project. Credit goes to the YouTuber starknstrange for setting up the tutorial course.
